Class Descriptions and Schedule
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Ballet-
In this class, students will be introduced to basic ballet fundamentals, including body alignment, vocabulary, and basic positions of the feet & arms.Students will move through center work, & progressions which include basic turns, jumps, & leaps.
This class will include students with no previous training as well as those with several years of experience. Students will advance with their own ability levels as the student is ready.
Contemporary Liturgical Praise-
This class will be a combination of teaching technique in the area of the Contemporary/Modern style dance (including some training in turns and leaps) as well as music interpretation and choreography. Those of you who are familiar with Praise Dance will find it to be like a Praise dance class combined with actual classical dance technique. “More motion for the message”
Hip Hop Dance (FREED Movement)-
This class is described as “Urban-inspired Dance for the Glory of God” and will train students in this fun and faster-paced style of movement. Students will learn exciting dance combinations /routines that are Age-appropriate and “character-conscious” (this means that your youngster won’t be imitating the overtly sexual movements that are prevalent in our current culture) Technical training may also include in Breakdancing, Popping, Waving, Locking and Freestyle.
Theater / Drama-
This class will focus on beg. - intermediate level acting skills using the body, voice, and mind (the 3 tools of the actor). Through theatre games and activities the student will gain confidence and self assurance. We will be choosing between various skits and short plays for a performance presentation.
